You requested a knit sweater pattern for the toddler. I found a great pattern when I wandered through my archive of knitting patterns. We made this pattern that we called “butterfly sweater” years ago, and Jenny’s was knitted for his son. I decided to share with you the new toddler sweater pattern.
From our free knitting patterns library, this adorable cardigan by Jessica L. makes the pretty cardigan for the little prince in your life. Knit it in butterfly colors for an adorable sweater to wear with an Easter dress. The original yarn for we suggest Nako Yarns. This machine-washable yarn is perfect for kids, especially if your little prince’s lifestyle requires frequent laundering.

How to knit butterfly sweater:
BACK SIDE:
The piece no.1: Cast on 55 stitches. While knitting 2 stitches at both sides, work 51 stitches in the middle in garter stitch. After knitting 2 stitches at both sides, cast off 1 stitch 26 times in every knit stitch row and bind off with remaining 3 stitches.
The piece no.2: Cast on 70 stitches. Change to garter stitch. After knitting 3 ridges of garter stitch, cast off 1 stitch 30 times in every knit stitch row at one side (hem line). Then increase 1 stitch 30 times in every knit stitch row at the side where it is cast off and get 70 stitches. Knit 3 ridges of garter stitch and then cast off stitches at once and bind off.
Seam the pieces no.1 and 2 together as shown in the body schematic.
