You got some questions like “how to knit patchwork poncho?” We recently shared several poncho patterns and received much attention. This time we have make a stylish and attractive knit poncho. A floral embroidered patchwork poncho for women is a unique and free knitting pattern.
This pattern consists of 5 different patch pieces and 2 separate types of wool are used. 5 balls of wool of different colors are required. I think there will be some questions about flower embroidery, so we make a chart about it.

Knitting Technique: Single moss stitch, needle embroidery
Knit in colorful hues, a medley of five patterns—among them, flower embroidered —recalls the look of oriental ethnic patchwork. The poncho is constructed from thirty-six square panels, each consisting of four pattern blocks; midway through the centermost panels, the flowers it gives a very cool look.
PIECE NO. 1:
1- Cast on 25 stitches w/ the yarn no. 86591 and work as single moss stitch along knit length.
2- Using the colors indicated in the layout sketch at 20 cm intervals, work forming 8 equal squares and bind off.
HOW TO KNIT PONCHO:
PIECE NO. 2:
1- Cast on 25 stitches w/ the yarn no. 86585 and work as single moss stitch along knit length.
2- Using the colors indicated in the layout sketch at 20 cm intervals, work forming 8 equal squares and bind off.
PIECE NO. 3:
1- Cast on 25 stitches w/ the yarn no. 86585 and work as single moss stitch along knit length.
2- Using the colors indicated in the layout sketch at 20 cm intervals, work forming 4 equal squares and bind off.
PIECE NO.4:
1- Cast on 25 stitches w/ the yarn no. 86585 and work as single moss stitch along knit length.
2- Using the colors indicated in the layout sketch at 20 cm intervals, work forming 8 equal squares and bind off.
PIECE NO. 5:
1- Cast on 25 stitches w/ the yarn no. 86591 and work as single moss stitch along knit length.
2- Using the colors indicated in the layout sketch at 20 cm intervals, work forming 8 equal squares and bind off. Poncho body 1- Sew all the pieces to form the body as shown in the sketch.
2- Affix 10 cm of tassels to the ends of front and back pieces using the same color of each square.
3- Affix 2.5 cm tassels to the sides using colors in the same way.
4- Using the yarn nos. 1048, 23116. and 1873. make embroideries to the center front and back neck opening as shown in the sketches.
How would you convert this into a crochet pattern. I think it is just beautiful.
Would you please give more exact instructions on the moss stitch that you used? I believe that the American and British moss stitches are different, and I don’t want to start this lovely project without knowing exactly which stitch you used. Thanks!
