Shawl and poncho knitting pattern
Shawl and poncho knitting pattern free

Last year the long shawl was blowing the wind, it was possible to see them on the models, players, politicians, everyone. I call it a shawl for this design, but you can call it a cardigan, a sweater or a poncho. Say what you say to this pattern but you have to admit that it is dazzling.

This is a knitting pattern, but you also need to know some crochet techniques. I can’t say that this pattern is easy, but it can be a challenge for experienced people.

If you have questions about the pattern, I’m waiting for my blog. I will be happy to help you.

4- While increasing 2 stitches on every knit row from the center of leaf separately knitted, at the same time, decrease 7+4+4+4 stitches on every knit row on both sides the leaf.

5- After repeating increase 11 times in total for the leaf separately knitted, center the stitches and work 3 stitches in the middle as knit stitch.

6- Increase 1 stitch at both sides of these 3 stitches.

7- On the next knit row, work 5 stitches in the middle as knit stitch and increase 1 stitch each at both side thereof.

8- After repeating this procedure thrice, finish by casting off the stitches formed.

  1. Beautiful wrap! In the pattern, however, there is an error. There are rows 1-7, and continuing, then Rows 1-8, and continuing. After that, right below the bar for a “FREE How to Knit a Scarf for Beginners” ad, the pattern continues “er 1, knit 1, yarn over 1…” It seems as if the beginning of that row’s instructions is missing.

I’ve never done that intricate of knitting before, and was considering doing this pattern, because it looks so nice, but can’t read a chart, and can’t figure out the directions.

    Thanks!

  2. working on woman’s shawl poncho -get to ‘after repeating decreases 9 times’ somewhat confusing -not sure where do you get 36 sts? think i have figured out- and where is key to charts?still want to make this so struggling on -is there a picture of back? Thank you

  3. Hi ! I am a Frenchspeaking Belgian knitter used to knit “in English”, yet I am quite confused at reading this beautiful pattern before trying to work on it. Could you please clarify for me what “increase 1 stitch onto needle” means ? And where is the key to the graph ? Thanks in advance and greetings from Mons, Belgium.
